The Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club is an independent organization not affiliated with any other private or public institution. And we are free to our members.
Situated in Paul Revere Park on Irving Park Road just west of Western Ave., the NBGC features four baseball diamonds, three football/soccer fields, tennis courts, playground, clubhouse with a game room, computer room and indoor practice rooms.
Next door, the Chicago Park District field house has a basketball court, auditorium and an art room. We provide services to over 1200 children a year and are responsible for our own funding. We have yearly fund-raisers and corporate and foundation appeals, but we also look to our parents and the local business community to help.
More than just a sports club, the Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club offers our members the opportunity to expand their horizons, build their character and enhance the community. NBGC encourages community involvement. We work closely with community groups, area schools and senior centers.
NBGC has been an integral part of the community for 75 years. The Club is a non-profit organization that is independent from any other Boys and Girls Club. Operations are supported by alumni, parent and business contributions, foundation and corporate giving and fundraisers.
NBGC offers a diversified athletic, social, recreational, cultural, computer, tutoring, leadership and scholarship program for boys and girls 6-18 years old. This positive adult and teen supervised program provides an alternative to the negative influences of drugs and gangs. The rules are simple - everyone plays, develops at his or her own pace and respects each other. Many thousands of alumni still reside within the NBGC community, cherishing their youthful memories and maintaining their friendships. Today, the year round program of NBGC includes activities for over 1200 boys and girls.
Everybody plays at NBGC. Whatever the skill or ability, boys and girls play every game in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Our program stresses teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility, leadership training and conflict resolution.
History and tradition combine with excellence in our management team. Years of involvement with our club and our community offer a level of stability and experience not found in many other organizations.
The program goes far beyond sports. Leadership skills, new friendships, and, most of all, a pride in oneself are the natural outcome of the unique Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club program.
